The Sacred Trilogy: Raw Spondylus & Spirit Guardians
This breathtaking pendant unites the two most sacred materials of the Inca Empire: the fiery Spondylus shell and the “Stone of the Sky,” Chrysocolla. Traditionally known as the “Red Gold of the Sea,” the raw, spiny Spondylus represents fertility and the life-giving ocean.
Adorning this natural treasure is the Andean Trilogy in hand-wrought Alpaca silver:
The Condor: Guardian of the heavens (Upper World).
The Puma: Symbol of earthly strength and power (Middle World).
The Serpent: Keeper of wisdom and transformation (Underworld).
Custom-crafted by our partner artisans in Peru, this necklace is a physical map of Andean spirituality and a bold celebration of the natural world.
Chrysocolla: Wisdom & Communication
Known as the Stone of Empowerment, Chrysocolla is a serene tool for expression and teaching. Its vibrant turquoise and green swirls embody the calming energy of water and the grounding strength of the earth, helping to discharge negative emotions with grace. By opening the Throat Chakra, it invites clear communication and the sharing of inner wisdom, making it a powerful ally for transitions and new beginnings. It is a stone of gentle power, encouraging heart-centered speech and a peaceful, resilient spirit.
What is Alpaca Silver?
Alpaca silver (also known as “Nickel Silver” or “German Silver”) is a high-quality metal alloy widely used by South American artisans for its beauty and resilience.
• The Composition: Despite its name, it does not contain elemental silver. It is a sturdy blend of copper, nickel, and zinc.
• The Look: It is prized for its bright, lustrous finish that mimics the look of sterling silver but at a more accessible price point.
• Durability: It is significantly harder and more durable than pure silver, meaning it holds its shape beautifully and is highly resistant to tarnishing.
• Artisanal Tradition: In Peru, Alpaca silver has a deep history. Local master-smiths favor it for its malleability, allowing them to hand-carve the intricate, detailed patterns you see in our hummingbird and serpent designs.
Care Note: Because of its copper content, Alpaca silver may eventually develop a warm patina. A quick polish with a soft cloth or a bit of lemon juice restores its original shine!
Please note: As it contains nickel, this material may not be suitable for those with specific nickel allergies.
